For the film industry, Eels music is in great demand when it comes to choosing songs for movie soundtracks. Throughout the career of E, he has contributed songs to more or less successful hollywood productions. As he stated several times, he has not even seen most of the films he contributed music to. “No I haven’t seen it. It looks terrible. It seems like it’s about those people who used to beat me up in high school [laughs]“, E once said in 2000 about the movie “Road Trip”. Though, he also once mentioned that two of the few movies he liked were “American Beauty” and “Shrek”. The latter is also the most successful franchise the Eels ever contributed music to. In 2007, they appeared for the third time on a Shrek soundtrack and people can be curiously looking forward to the next Shrek films to come.
