E on BBC Radio 2

Just minutes ago BBC Radio 2 broadcast E’s appearance on Dermot O’Leary’s show. Bad news for all “End Times” lovers and for those who are waiting for an Eels tour. E didn’t perform any songs from the latest album, neither did he talk about it. He performed the Eels classics “I Like Birds” and “Mr. E’s Beautiful Blues”; and did not react too enthusiastic about the idea of an upcoming tour. Looking at the latest interview in MOJO magazine and this radio talk we can assume that there are no plans to tour “End Times” as of now….

In the latest issue of MOJO Magazine one can find a six page feature about Eels, including an interview with E. It is the first and only talk with E about his new album “End Times”. The MOJO Website has to say the following about the Eels feature:

Eels on BBC Radio 2

On next Saturday (February 27^th) Eels will appear on Dermot O’Leary’s BBC radio 2 show. The programme runs from 3pm – 6pm (GMT). For more details visit the BBC Radio page, on which it says that the show will be “live from LA with Robbie Williams, Molly Ringwald plus live music from Eels.” Thanks to RockingEels.com visitor Rich for the info.

Furthermore, we are now introducing a feature called Fan-Video of the Week. From today onwards we are going to present an Eels related video made by fans at every end of the week. If you wanna suggest a video you found, don’t hesitate to give us a shout.

Here we go again...

It’s been a tradition for several years that with every album the Eels release there’s the crushing album review by Pitchfork. It’s almost absurd how low all the Eels albums are rated by this website, which thrives on controversy, apparently. Still, it’s always fun to read their ridiculous verdict on an Eels record. You’ll find it in our substantial “End Times” REVIEW SECTION.

More importantly, you might wanna check out the latest blog entry by our friend Mike on his THE ROCK HARD TIMES fan blog. He’s done a complete and very enjoyable overview of the Eels’ catalog. This might be especially interesting to all of you folks who are just finding out about E and his wonderful music.
