ClashMusic talks to E

In an interesting article about the latest Eels album trilogy E talks with ClashMusic.com about the main ideas behind these recent albums: lust, loss and redemption. He also talks about the cover of the upcoming “Tomorrow Morning”:

[T]he cover of ‘Tomorrow Morning’ [was] chosen by E himself. “It’s a Jackaranda tree, and right now they’ve all bloomed round my neighbourhood. It’s a really lovely shade of purple but it’s only in bloom for a short time so you have to rally appreciate it while it lasts. You’ve got to appreciate the good things while they’re there. I just try to do something that suits it, in my mind.”

E mistaken for being a terrorist

NME reports:

E from Eels was questioned by police in London’s Hyde Park after they mistook him for a suspected terrorist. The singer, real name Mark Oliver Everett was taking a break from a day of interviews when police approached him thinking he fitted the description of a suspicious person they were looking for. After being let go once they realised he was innocent, the frontman said: “Not every guy with short hair and a long beard is a terrorist. Some of us just want to rock.”
